About me

Throughout my studies at UCLan, and especially with Covid-19 forcing me to work from home, I have had to rely on some important key skills such as time management, organization skills, and self-motivation. I managed to get a bit of work experience in an infant school which was helpful in a professional manner, but was unfortunately cut short because of Covid-19. My plan for after graduation is to complete a PGCE teacher training secondary education course to become an art teacher.

My project is called 'Around and Around'. The theme explored is mental health specifically Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, also known as OCD. I focused mainly on the most common types and forms of OCD which are hoarding, contamination, mental contamination, checking, symmetry and order. My aim as an artist for this project is to show the complexity of this disorder, the truth of it not just the stereotypes. Mediums used are pyrography, printing, video, and digital imagery. While creating these works I took onboard the uncontrollable actions of OCD and incorporated them within my art.
