About me

I am a mixed media artist, focusing on creating collages using images I have taken or collected from the places I have visited. I create the collages traditionally and digitally on photoshop. Mixing the two techniques together leaves a distinctive style to the collages.

In 2020 I went on two research trips to Singapore and Berlin – I am inspired by cities around the world: their unique aesthetics, culture and environment. Through my collages I highlight their differences by editing them in a specific way that I find best shows my perception of them to the viewer.

My inspiration started while visiting cities during my Foundation Diploma in Art & Design and I have continued to develop my practice since. Throughout my degree, my work has grown and I have found my passion. I hope to further my practice and become involved in exhibitions, showcasing my skills and exclusive style.

My work focuses on cultural and societal differences highlighted through found and personal images collected from cities around the world. Using these images to construct collages, I created my series ‘Hidden Perspectives’. I also started to experiment with the use of magazine images and my own paintings. Layering the two together I created my series ‘Locked In 2020’ – focusing on the impact the pandemic has had on our mental health. I edit on photoshop, I find that altering things such as the brightness, vibrancy, hue and saturation, alters our former views and manifests them into a new vision.
