About me

As a printmaker each piece I create an accomplishment. Having progressed on from the foundation course to the Fine art BA, my practice has completely changed from what type artist I thought I was, from acrylic painting to printmaking.

I have spent seven years in education whilst being a single mum with first completing a BTEC diploma on a access course and one from the Art & Design Foundation Level Entry and I am aiming to do two more years part-time of the MA Fine Art course.

I am a visual artist, and my art practice is print based and predominately focuses on trees and the hidden beauty of them. I am interested in the notion of how our well-being can be improved by spending time in nature and our relationship to trees. Due to Covid 19 lockdowns I was able to use my daily exercise to my advantage and spent much time in local woodlands, observing, documenting and relaxing. I make intaglio prints of isolated images of different parts of the tree to show beauty from all aspects of the tree, even if it looks "ugly".
