About me

Born in Manchester (England) in 1974 my childhood encompassed living in the urban to settling in rural Lancashire where she works from my home studio overlooking the Countryside. I am a recently retired educator.

I have worked on and off in the community for a number of years on various arts based and regeneration projects and well-being programs. I supported the Pendle in Paint arts project and was the director of my own gallery. I will continue to develop these alongside my own arts practice. I am currently being mentored via the Harris Museum through UCLan and the notable CJAM event, perhaps working towards developing a question for a PHD in Women’s Studies, Art and Psychology.

I focus on feminist issues surrounding abuse related to Power and Control. Grappling themes of identity with psychoanalysis I hope to become an arts activist for all Human Rights; I now introduce ‘Little Noises’.

I have been lucky enough to have experience of being: a community artist, community development coordinator, and art teacher in education. I can now finally refer to myself and acknowledge that I am an artist. For as long as I can recall, I have created in one vice or another. My journey to this very point in time then, has made it possible for me to let out the purl from within me. With these collective experiences, I can now say with conviction who I am, what my art does and what I want achieve for others.
