Lukasz Chudziak

Architecture (Foundation Entry)

About me

My name is Lukasz, and I am an international student at UCLan. I began studying the Architecture Foundation Entry course last year and during that time I have improved in many subject specific skills including sketching, technical drawing, AutoCAD, and model-making. I have also acquired self-organization and communication skills, learning English as a second language. During the year I also became employed in a geodesic company and the work experience has enabled me to develop my understanding of the built and natural environment. I have learnt more about the rules and regulations within the industry and have gained a different perspective whilst developing my AutoCAD skills, working on live projects, and visiting building sites.

The largest assignment during the year was the Final Major Project to design an art gallery on the UCLan campus. I was provided with many opportunities to develop my creative skills in different ways. I found that the design development process was a complex set of stages focusing on the building up of skills. Initially, I worked on making conceptual drawings and models to develop design ideas using various methods of production and then adapting them further to produce my final gallery design outcomes.
