About me

I am an abstract painter and I see abstract painting as my own visual language. Each painting is a documentation of a unique experience during the time of creating over the space a few weeks. Working in layers and different techniques of painting, I work on canvas, using acrylic, spray paint and water. I use tools such as palette knives and wet, soft and hard-bristle brushes. I overlap harsh brushstrokes and unique marks to create a visual depth that my audience can identify.

I have a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Art & Design (D*DD). Starting in September through the University of Cumbria, I am doing a PGCE in Art & Design Secondary Education.

Each painting is a documentation of a unique experience during the time of creating over the space of a few weeks. The decisions I make when producing a painting are not planned which makes the final outcome exciting. I work by layering colours and different techniques of painting, using acrylic and spray paint. I use various tools including dry, wet and hard bristle brushes, palette knives and occasionally work my hands into the paintings. I overlap harsh brushstrokes and unique marks to create a visual depth that the audience can identify, so when you’re viewing the painting you’re engaged.
