About me

I am a textiles based mixed media fine artist that works in abstracted and conceptual ways in order to delve deep into emotion and the essence of who we are as people. I openly advocate for people to form their own responses to my work as conceptual pieces will mean something different to everyone who sees them.

This project started out as an investigation of the seaside and the textures found there; so I started off by exploring the landscapes and skyscapes of my local coastlines in the form of quick studies but this quickly evolved into more expressive and faster moving landscape paintings. It felt like the mood of these first primary studies didn't match the topic so I decided to tweak my aim of for the project to be more conceptual and emotive- to visually explore escapism and how emotions like this feel in the mind's eye.
