About me

As an artist, the main aspect of my work is research. I love deep diving into subjects and finding unusual facets of history and basing my work around that, interpreting elements into my pieces. I like playing with mixed media and creating different effects, but the main aspect of my work are my line drawings. I love creating intricate line drawings, especially using floral imagery weaving throughout whatever motif I’m using as the centrepiece. I love trying to make the strange, dark, and twisted into something beautiful.

My honours project began as an exploration of the dichotomy of life and death, using motifs of animal skeletons and flowers, using graphic line work and soft watercolours. The use of quink became a main component and I started experimenting with bleach. My project changed when I was directed to the Natural History Museum virtual tour and when looking through the fossil collection, I learned of Mary Anning. I played with fossil motifs carving lino blocks to print with bleach along with flora from the garden. I’ve designed journals, greetings cards, gift wrap, and prints with my fossil-floral prints.
