About me

I am a keen sports enthusiast which led me to focus on sports photography throughout the course and I would like to continue this work post-graduation. I regularly photograph rugby, football, water sports and American football for teams both inside and outside of UCLan. Representation of female athletes/women’s sport has been a main theme for me influencing both my dissertation and my previous work. However, my most recent project, ‘Hang In There’, uses the sport of climbing to show how athletes are getting through lockdown and explores the repercussions that it has had on them.

- Hang In There - Hang In There documents the journey of rebuilding the strength and climbing ability lost due to the first UK lockdown. I wanted to put an emphasis on all of the musculature needed to hang on to these tiny hand-holds, in order to highlight how much there is to lose when not being able to train and the repercussions on athletic performance. Our climber may be literally hanging on to the wall however, I feel the project is relevant to anyone who is hanging in there and trying to get through lockdown in their own way.
