About me

I am a textiles artist focusing on the tactility of fabrics and fibres. I mainly explore imagination and creativity, with a child-like prospective emphasizing play and colour. Striving for a fantasy, sci fi aesthetic while taking inspiration from many of the Japanese sub-cultures, like Lolita, decora and keeping it aesthetically cute, ‘kawaii’.

After graduation I will be developing and refining my skills on a textiles MA, as well as opening my own shop selling art dolls.

Childhood imagination, perceived ‘dream worlds’ and imaginary or made up friends and environments made within the mind of a child, created within our reality. No matter their age, those experiences matter and help them to grow intellectually. Through this collection of work, I have been exploring imagination and creativity, with a child-like prospective emphasizing play and colour. I have responded to my detailed research with a child-like sense of play and creativity, keeping the focus on fun and enjoyment both in the process and its portrayal in the final outcomes. “Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.” – Carroll Bryant
