About me

As an artist and designer I have explored multidisciplinary print processes from traditional to digital. Surface Pattern has been developed using silk screen print, intaglio, lithography and digital print to create commercial fashion design pieces and stand alone art pieces.

“To make you feel is my new expression” (DJ Shadow, Feat Nas 2017)
The discussion over mental illness requires more than statistics. For action to happen the statistic must be humanised. As a mental health advocate and activist artist I have looked at ways to combine creative output whilst challenging attitudes of mental illness. Developing creative practice to raise awareness and fundraise in support of charities CALM and BEAT by selling art and design pieces.

Continuing work as a mental health advocate I have submitted research evidence to BEAT for the ‘All Party Parliamentary Group’ for funding on eating disorders which will be published in the July 2021 report.

In a society where we are living longer, both physical and mental health are equally important for individuals and communities to thrive. The frequency and volume of mental illness being reported has and is systematically growing at an alarming rate, especially the aftermath of the 2020 pandemic. As a creative practitioner, sufferer of mental health, friend and teacher to those affected by mental health, my research has left me questioning how the creative process and outcome could increase awareness of mental illness and support wellbeing?
