About me

A creative sculptor who is able to visualise and conceptualise artistic ideas for corporate and private commissions as well as own practice. My passion for the arts is immense and my skills, knowledge and life experiences are combined into my work which can be large or small scale. I am experienced in using many materials and processes to obtain the result required, from ceramics to moulding and casting using silicon, plaster and resin. Most recent commission was for Gorilla Glue which I designed and created a 6-foot gorilla for their Head Office. I made an armature, attached the clay to form the gorilla which was then cast into bronze resin by the foundry and featured in Lancashire Life Magazine (February 2019 edition). Future plans include corporate commissions when opportunities arise, and continuing with own practice to raise awareness of certain issues in accordance to the narrative.

My MA Ceramics work focuses on coercive control, to highlight the impact that this kind of abuse has on the mind. My final piece will be a large free standing sculpture which incorporates several heads, each displaying an emotion within the mind. Being on the MA Ceramics course has enabled me to develop my skills in portraiture sculpture using ceramic processes, as well as allowing me to explore a variety of clays to determine which one will best achieve the result I am aiming for. I also create work for bronze commissions.

I made this piece in relation to the narrative about coercive control. It is fired to Earthenware with a porcelain slip.

Focus within. I have learned that we cannot fix the world or other people, therefore focusing within is healing in itself.
