About me

My name is Siobhan Shaw, I am a illustrator from Southport, currently studying at Uclan on the Master’s in Children’s Book Illustration .

My work has a strong focus on empathy and story telling. This was something I started to develop interest in during my BA (Hons) Illustration at Uclan. I also so want to carry this on with future children book story projects.

My project focuses on empathy and creating an immersive world. I wanted to make a world that the reader could escape too, while having an understanding for the characters and the emotions they have. This is shown in my children's book Cat in the Mist. This story is about a cat called Magic who feels lonely and one night wishes upon a star and is able to climb up mist. Eventually Magic finds a fox called Cinnamon and an unexpected friendship begins.
