About me

Hello! My name is Amy, and I’m an MA Animation student with a focus on 3D modelling and animation. I’ve made nine dinosaur 3D models over the course of my studies, following the industry’s pipeline from concept to completion. I sculpted, retopologized, textured, rigged, and animated every model in my portfolio. I’ve been creating animations since 2011, and I’m passionate about bringing characters to life so I can tell stories with them. I currently specialise in 3D, though I am happy to make hand-drawn work too.

Dinosaurs: Through Times Canvas, is a compilation of animated walk cycles of various dinosaurs featured in cinema. The first character at the beginning of the film is Gertie The Dinosaur (1914). She was the first animated dinosaur that had a personality. Every year that passes there are advancements within animation and VFX, this is also true for palaeontology alongside scientific research regarding dinosaurs; how their musculature and bone structure determined their locomotion and their behaviours. These films and series reflect the understanding of palaeontologists at the time they were created and how CGI has changed the animation industry.

This is a model I made as a test, it was never used in the film. This model was created in Blender 3.6 and textured in Substance Painter.
