About me

Throughout my University experience I have gained a variety of skills. Creating my final collection has given me an insight into all aspects of garment making – I feel that I can easily create a garment after designing it. I enjoy drawing both digitally and traditionally; this was my main strength when starting this course. I also feel very confident with sewing, as I am able to create professional garments with neat finishings. My other strengths include CAD, embroidery, pattern cutting and graphic layout.

My final collection is a part of Graduate Fashion Week 2023, and my portfolio was selected to go on their website. I have also been a part of the UCLan Fashion show two years in a row.

I would like to gain further knowledge within the fashion industry which I can then use to create my own clothing business.

My collection focuses on the equestrian aspect of Queen Victoria’s life. Focusing on the historical and royal aspects, my silhouettes are inspired by the 1800’s, with details and styling influenced through the equestrian details and riding equipment. Modern equestrianism was also taken into account, with sleek leather corsets adding to the silhouettes, which have a balance of timeless equestrianism and Victorian elegance. Her diaries became further inspiration – the intricate handwriting inspired my embroidery details, which soften the equestrian look. Additional details such as bridles have been developed into multi-functional leather straps with gold clasps to reinforce the overall theme.
