About me

Hi, my name is Charlotte my collection is inspired by escapism, sustainable practices, and contemporary minimalist silhouettes. Nature and the outdoors have become even more vital during the recent pandemic, and it is these factors that have enhanced personal ways of coping during this period of our lives. The focus of my collection was to highlight sustainable or alternative fashion techniques or developments and how it is possible to use existing resources to create something new, fresh and beautiful. Being on an ‘Enterprise’ route throughout my time at university has really allowed me to explore how I can realistically use the practices explored in my collection and turn these into real life solutions and opportunities.

My creative ideas came about during lockdown where my form of escapism was the outdoors. We are all inspired by our surroundings much more than we realize and it’s our job to caretake and nurture it, therefore, having repurposing elements in my collection is vital in my design process. As we return to some normality thinking about how we can incorporate certain changes and new values into our daily lives is integral. My collection is about the transition from being contained indoors to now slowly going out and back to work with a new appreciation for comfort, reassurance, and simplicity.
