About me

Hi! I’m Emily (they/she), an award-winning filmmaker, writer and artist based in Lancashire. During my Animation MA, I have made my first animation film,’I Would Like to Live on the Moon.’ Previously, I was a Screenwriting BA student at UCLan from 2017-2020.

Alongside my degree, I co-founded the short film production company Jen and Em Films in 2021. Our first short film, ‘The Art of Forgiveness,’ premiered at HOME Manchester in June 2022.

‘I Would Like to Live on the Moon’ is a short animated film about a young non-binary person who wants to escape the world around them – and live on the moon. I decided to make the film about my own personal journey of discovering my identity to help other young people connect with themselves and feel not so alone.
