About me

I graduated from BA Illustration at UCLan in 2021 and went on to study MA Children’s Book Illustration. At the start of this course, I was commissioned to illustrate ‘Cheesed Off!’, which went on to be nominated for a Carnegie Medal and longlisted for the World Illustration Awards, and the Klaus Flugge Prize and have led creative character workshops for children and students revolving around the book. Since then, I have written and illustrated ‘Percy the Post Penguin, publishing in November with UCLan Publishing, and have written and illustrated a further two books and a board book as part of my course, aiming for publication in the future. I am based in Lancashire and use mainly traditional techniques in my work such as gouache and pencil crayon.

My first project, ‘Percy the Post Penguin’, has been commissioned by UCLan Publishing and will be published in November. All my books have revolved around the theme of confidence and how to use playful characters that do not patronise or preach about this topic. ‘Poppy and Rabbit’, ‘Pip and Pop’ and ‘Mr Bernard the Business Bear’ are also focused on this theme and are illustrated in gouache and pencil crayon.
