About me

The artist, Georgia Hough, is an illustrator based in the North West of the UK. Prior to the MA course at UCLan, Hough completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Huddersfield, graduating with a First in illustration with included a year on work placement at The Artkinson, Southport. During their studies they co-founded the University of Huddersfield Art Society, in which they became President of during their final year.

With interest in the potential future of publishing and picture books as influence, Hough’s project is about bringing digital and traditional media together by using technology to enhance early readers' experience in school. The board book's main focus is on words of objects illustrated. As mentioned this project uses technology to enhance the educational reading experience, this is done by the reader using a smart device to scan a QR code which leads to an app that helps with spelling - and is able to be personalised for each user.
