About me

Jack | 22 | Preston UK

I am a vector based illustrator from Preston, I love to work with bright and fun colours and reflect this into my projects. My time at UCLan has helped me improve my craft and given me the opportunity to explore and experiment with my practice to try and push my design work in new directions.

Looking at my practice before I started studying and UCLan compared to now I can see a massive difference and improvement with my own design work but also with my research and context behind my work taking massive steps forward thanks to the help of my tutors and peers.

After UCLan I would love to work illustrating children’s books using my unique style and hopefully spread positive messages to my audience!

This project I set out to complete is a wordless picture book using fun and colorful characters to spread a light-hearted but important message about self love and positivity in a young audience. I decided to make the picture book wordless so my book could be universally understood and reach a larger audience while also being a perfect opportunity to challenge my creative practice to tell a story that can easily be followed without any words for guidance.
