Master of Fine Art

About me

I have established my art practice withing the area of Assemblage Art working across sculpture, film and video.
I have built connections with the Civil Engineering department and I am able to use (with technical supervision) large machinery to aid my work.
My work is research led, I have broadened in to fields such as philosophy and science to underpin and contextualise my work.
I work confidently and experimentally while working to strict deadlines.
I have come to understand and value studio culture and art community, I am currently in process pf setting up a Collective based in Preston to remain active and within the community.

My relationship with materials and objects is that of a nurturing one. It is a connection that is complex, analytical, and playful. A sense of self and individuality is often found through an assortment of objects.
It is the fluctuating relationship between people, materials and time that drives the work. My practice can be most accurately described as assemblage, working primarily with found and gathered materials. ‘An Open Set of Potentialities’ comprises of works across sculpture and video. The work on display is research led, and explores the question;
How does an individual thing or being come into existence?
