About me

My key strengths in fashion have always been centred around the production side of things. My passion is in sewing and pattern cutting because I’ve always loved the fact that you can change the silhouette of a garment just by using unique pattern cutting techniques. I also love creating different types of textile techniques to replicate the theme in a more unique way. I used both these skills in my current project to create a final collection of garments with a strong narrative.

Thanks to my time at UCLan, I have improved my technical skills to a level where I am now highly proficient in a variety of techniques on Illustrator and Photoshop. I have also developed strong skills in a variety of pattern cutting techniques through attending workshops. Studying at UCLan has helped me to improve my skills ready for a career in the industry and to present to you this work in my degree showcase.

My final collection and portfolio reflect the relationship between the sun and the earth. The sun is our biggest threat but at the same time it’s also our salvation and harnessing that power would benefit the earth. This unharnessed energy became my main source of research for my final-year work. I focused on the elements that the sun provides us with, which are light and heat. I used these features throughout my project developing through textile techniques and smart fabrics. These became the main features within my menswear collection with unique graphic patterning and streetwear inspired items.
