About me

My name is Nathan I am 22 years old, over the past years in university I have made huge strides in my understanding of games design and the skills involved. My interest in games design comes from my interest in how the overall product comes to fruition, I’ve always loved the idea of multiple disciplines melding together to create something that transcends one discipline. I’ve spent a huge amount of time looking into modelling, rigging, texturing, animating, programming and different things within ue4 to bring these skills to life. My final projects are my proudest and shine with this, they contain all of these different skills I’ve amassed and feel like actual game experiences, my honours project focuses on visual perfection while games proposal was about making an experience that feels like a game and being able to bring both of these together will result in an extremely polished experience.

All my projects have had a massive impact on my skills and my workflow, but in particular I would say that my cooperative platformer, and both of my first person shooters had the biggest influence. They all allowed me to focus on visual design while also bringing a lot of attention to the programming and playable side of it. The coop platformer was a major learning experience as well and helped me understand time management and keeping focus, while the first person games learned from this and I was more able to create a more condensed project.

A showcase of my Glock pistol model I made for my games proposal fps game. I did this to showcase the details in the texturing and to show the weapon in better lighting.
