Patrycja Wolak

Architecture, BSc (Hons)

About me

Hi, I am Patrycja and I am a student of BSc (Hons) Architecture at the University of Central Lancashire. Throughout my studies I have developed my interest in sustainability of the built environment, hopefully being able to follow this route in my future career. I love to explore how science and technology can be used to improve the performance of buildings, both socially and environmentally. This course helped me develop my own architectural voice through my own projects, learning about time management and working as a team in a preparation for professional practice. As for my personal interests- I love hand drawing, crafts and photography, mainly focusing on architectural objects. I also take part in sports, either group or individual. Particularly badminton, paddle surfing, yoga and weight training. Also, I love to travel and experience new cultures.

Project 1- Temple of Antitheses This project revolves around the creation of sacred spaces, such as a place of non-religious ceremony, sanctuary, and memory that the transient and settled communities of Blackpool, a place to gather, a place to share and a place to be alone. Project 2 – Made in Blackpool The second project brief aims to build upon the knowledge and understanding of Blackpool and continue critical and creative analysis of the Blackpool territory. During the project we considered Blackpool not only as a tourist destination, but also as a place to live and create.
