About me

Throughout my four years at UCLan, I have learnt so much studying fashion design. I have improved on my skills and qualities vastly from, CAD design, to pattern cutting and trend forecasting – especially in my final year. My strengths are menswear, womenswear and textile design. I have had the opportunity in taking part in a work placement in industry giving me an insight of the fashion world. Most of all being able to push myself to the best of my abilities to create my final collection to the professional standard that is required, more so being able to do it during a global pandemic. As well as being selected as one of the shortlisted students to upload my work on the Graduate Fashion Foundation Portfolio, representing the University, and having my work featured on the GFF Talent page.

M.L.D ( short for Men’s Lacerated Denim) is a collection developed through the awareness of the rare genetic illness. My creative ideas show the process of deterioration during the illness in the form of distressed surface treatments and layered pattern developments. A process that shows the development of how a person with M.L.D deteriorates and gradually loses their physical abilities. Generating abstract digital prints combined with the distressed effects of denim I intended to replicate the ideas of the nervous system combined with experiments in manipulated textile effects such as distressed treatments, layered appliqué effects combined with contemporary menswear silhouettes.
