I am an illustrator with a love for mythology, cryptids, the ancient world, biology, both human and animal and the artistic ability to ‘Stick it to the Man’. My passion for pattern and surface design paved the way for my projects, creating fabric, wallpaper and cushions with repeat patterns that have a deeper meaning than just the art itself. I have learnt to make these patterns through software such as Photoshop and Illustrator on top of more traditional ways of work. My ideas for my patterns all stem from traditional printmaking and the illustrations I create through that, which I will have made before I start patterns. I hope to take this into my future career and further studies.
I have created a series of surface patterns to be used on items such as apparel, stationery, gifts, fabrics and wallpapers that show the link between the sciences and mythology from societies around the world. Showing that science, art, and mythology are not mutually exclusive but intertwined throughout history. In addition to how the philosophy of religion and sciences are not all that different.
