Introduction

The BA (Hons) Dance Performance and Teaching course focuses on nurturing our students’ skills as performers, dance makers and facilitators, preparing them for life as independent dance artists. In their final year each student works independently on structuring, facilitating and choreographing a dance project or event.

As a group, the students also become members of UCLan Dance Company (UDC), a project that allows students to be involved in the devising, rehearsing and touring of a new work for performance, choreographed by an external professional dance company or independent artist. This year the members of UDC worked under the direction of London based professional dance artist Dan Watson creating ‘Scatter Cushion’, ‘a dance of joy, care and the big messy unknown.
