Dance Performance and Teaching, BA (Hons)

The BA (Hons) Dance Performance and Teaching course focuses on nurturing our students’ skills as performers, dance makers, and facilitators. It prepares them for life as independent dance artists. In their final year, students independently structure, facilitate, and choreograph a dance project or event.

As a group, the students also become members of UCLan Dance Company (UDC). This is a project that allows students to be involved in the devising, rehearsing and touring of a new work for performance. The project is choreographed by an external professional dance company or independent artist. This year the members of UDC worked under the direction of Jessie Brett, from Humans Move, creating ‘Transformation in action’. This is a piece that explores the journey of life and how we can support each other and ourselves to navigate the ups and downs.
