About
As a stylist, my work focuses on important themes such as sense of self and the power of being a woman, highlighting individuality and character through details such as layers, accessories, and locations. I enjoy blending minimalism with boldness, naturally gravitating towards contrasting elements, whilst still ensuring the final images appear clean and polished.
When creating, I enjoy starting with completing thorough research into the theme to help develop the concept and ideation, bringing it to life via mood-boards of what I envision, before continuing into visual research of collections and finally bringing the concept to life.
All of my work is rooted in personal experiences and beliefs, with a lot of my creative process and ideas being intuitive. For each piece of work my goal is to create imagery that emotionally resonates with the audience and tells a powerful story whilst remaining authentic to my beliefs.
My areas of interest span editorial styling, creative direction, concept development and personal styling. I am excited to bring my perspective into the industry and collaborate with other creatives who value strong visual identity.
Project overview
Sense of Self
A sense of self is comprised of three different editorial shoots all based around the overarching theme of self-portraits. These shoots together made the content for the magazine I produced as part of my final project – I Magazine.
Inspired by an exhibition at the Harris Museum, I wanted to explore self portraits and the way we showcase ourselves to reflect who we are within. Each day when we get dressed, we are painting our self-portrait of the day, aiming to reflect on the outside what we feel on the inside. I have displayed various aspects of this, such as the feeling of being masked, love of hobbies, and periods of life.
Everyone is different and show up in different ways, and each shoot showcases a different aspect of the overall theme.
