About

My passion for art and design has guided me from an early age toward a career in interior design. Throughout my journey at university, I have focused on developing my skills to create spaces that are both functional and inspiring. Nature has always been a central influence in my work, and I incorporate biophilic principles to foster a sense of calm and connection in every space I design. I prioritise the use of natural materials, colour palettes inspired by the environment, and the use of natural light to enhance wellbeing within a space. Studying interior design has allowed me to explore how creativity, sustainability, and human experience intersect, shaping my approach to thoughtful, people-centred interiors. I am dedicated to designing environments that bring harmony, comfort, and a touch of nature into everyday life.

Project overview

The Sanctum

My honours project involved renovating an existing building, Norwich Refectory, to address a specific need within the city. Norwich is filled with dark, enclosed offices, which can negatively impact mental health and productivity. The design transforms the space into a coworking environment called “The Sanctum”, providing an atmosphere that encourages focus, creativity, and wellbeing. Mental health is at the core of this design. Biophilic aspects are incorporated throughout, using natural materials, daylight, and greenery to create a calming and focused atmosphere. Its proximity to Norwich Cathedral inspired elements of medieval design, including stained glass and wood carvings, which add a reflective and historic character to the space. The interior is carefully zoned to meet different working needs. A collaborative coworking area encourages social interaction and idea sharing, while private work pods provide quiet, focused spaces for individuals or small groups. These areas meet at a central coffee bar, offering a place to relax and recharge. Every aspect of The Sanctum is designed to promote motivation, focus, and wellbeing. By combining functionality, aesthetic appeal, and a connection to nature, the space provides a thoughtful, people-centred environment where users can thrive both professionally and personally.
