My great grandad’s photographs and love letters exchanged across war-torn distance inspire my final collection that speaks of absence, connection, and the tenderness of communication. These relics whisper of longing, devotion, and the fragile thread of contact stretched between two souls. Through these themes, I have discovered the ‘myth of the missing half’, where love becomes both absence and completion. My collection hopes to hold a tension between utility and poetry, where structure meets softness, and function is infused with care. Surfaces speak of repair and continuity, and textures become vessels of memory, charging the collection with intimacy.
