Project overview
Elmfield hall - In the presence of nature
My honours project focuses on the design of a community support centre for veterans, created to promote wellbeing, stability, and a sense of belonging during the transition to civilian life. The design incorporates therapeutic and functional spaces, including therapy rooms, communal areas, temporary accommodation, and staff facilities. A central feature of the project is the garden, designed to provide a calming outdoor environment that encourages relaxation, reflection, and connection with nature. The interior scheme uses a natural palette of browns, beiges, and greens to create a warm and supportive atmosphere. Overall, the project aims to combine functionality and comfort to deliver a safe and welcoming environment that supports veterans’ mental and emotional well-being.
