About
I have just completed a foundation year in architecture, and without a doubt, bringing ideas to existence only heightens my passion. I have developed critical thinking skills on topics that once didn't concern me, as well as graphic design skills. Making things has been something I have been passionate about for as long as I can remember. Having discovered architecture some time ago, studying this course has established new goals and paths for myself. Although my journey in architecture has just begun, I have grown immensely as a person. I understand the importance of human emotion in relation to architecture and the importance of community.
Project overview
EYE OF THE MASK
For this project, I designed a Pavilion for the Preston Caribbean carnival held at Moor Park. The event usually takes place in summer. Inspired by masks, I aimed at representing masks in a literal sense and creating a cost-effective design. The space is designed to flow nicely with the park and bring warmth to the event. The Pavilion is an artistic space intended to capture the Caribbean culture. activities such as face painting, selling booths, a wall made up of blank masks for people to create their own creative masks, a Caribbean drink kiosk, a costume shop and photographers ready to capture those memories. It also features an outdoor shaded seating area formed to symbolize the eyes of a mask.
