Hello! My name is Chloe, and I am a passionate crocheter and mixed-media artist, deeply inspired by the beauty of nature, the mysteries of the zodiac, the enchanting stars, and the world around me. I find joy in the art of collaging, where I piece together various bits of paper to create unique, expressive artworks.
Throughout my university journey, I have honed my skills in computer-aided design, particularly in Adobe Photoshop, enabling me to take part in exciting live projects with brands such as Cosatto and Peter Reed. My dedication to mastering the craft of crochet has led me to explore the delightful realm of amigurumi, a whimsical approach to crafting plush figures.
This skill has blossomed into my exploration of fashion and interior design, resulting in beautiful wall hangings and wearable creations that blend artistry with functionality.
Project overview
Astrological Aethetics
The project explores the Astrological Aesthetic through the lens of personal zodiac signs and birth charts. It highlights that the zodiac originated in Babylonia and that the Greeks adopted 12 signs. The goal is to create interior and fashion pieces that reflect my personality and how their zodiac sign shapes their identity, while also inspiring others to connect with their own signs.
The inspiration came from childhood mugs representing the Sagittarius sign and their sister's Virgo sign. Further research revealed a Taurus moon and Scorpio rising. Various techniques and materials, including crochet, wool, canvas, and fabric, are used to create products centred around these themes.
