About

I am an emerging mixed media creater, with a passion for producing weirdness through my pieces. I enjoy creating conceptual work, gathered from visual inspirations which tells a narrative or spreads a wider message. Throughout my degree, I have found a love for creating both intricate and delicate drawings, pairing them with more playful and expressive pieces to create something unique and interesting.

Project overview

Am I Grown Yet?

My final project, ‘Am I Grown Yet’’, is to question why idealised rehearsals of adulthood are encouraged so early on, yet their playful spirit is rarely carried forward into real adult life. Asking why creativity, bright colours and wackiness is abandoned once we reach maturity. Through a combination of sophisticated print techniques, structured patterns and deliberate childlike illustrations and characters, I aim to blur the boundary between maturity and play.

By combining refined composition with playful and wacky characters, the work seeks to reintroduce a sense of absurdity and curiosity into adult spaces, conveying the message that growing up does not need to correlate to growing out of the ability or need play and challenging the notions that adulthood must be restrained and serious.
