About
After spending three years studying Architecture, I have developed an interest in designing spaces that feel connected to the relevant local environment. Throughout my projects, I have focused on designing projects that respond carefully to their site context and the way users would experience the space. My approach to design centres on the development of both practical and formal planning. I particularly enjoyed the development stages of each project, including model production, which helped shape my project design ideas. Over time, model making has extended beyond my degree programme to include personal enjoyment, as I create detailed pieces and hone my skills outside academic work.
Project overview
Shape works
This project introduces a ceramic maker space in Fleetwood for both the public and professionals, creating a space for people to learn and expand their skillset. Located on brownfield space across the road from the market, this site selection simultaneously helps rebuild the town’s grid and reconnects the locals to the town centre. The project includes a ceramic workshop that is inspired by the heritage within Fleetwood, producing utilised ceramic artefacts based on the Pharos and the lower lighthouse within Fleetwood. The building also holds learner, creator and exhibition spaces where members of the public can freely attend or book to use. This project proposal combines the production and creativity that can be sustained within the Fleetwood community.
