Hi! I’m Georgia, an author illustrator, from Wigan. I came straight from the BA in illustration and over the past two years have been developing a picture book ‘The Dark Is Our Friend’ for my children’s book masters degree. I love to work digitally with lots of textures and loose line. On the MA, I have loved developing my practice of cute characters with big round eyes and little bodies. During my time on these courses at UClan, I have absolutely loved developing scripts and illustrating young picture books, so it has been a great pleasure to be able to share my current progress and I am grateful and excited for future projects.
Project overview
The Dark Is Our Friend
A 32 page children’s picture book about being scared of the dark. This is aimed at very young children and includes lots of adorable monster characters to hopefully help children tackle fears of the dark. I have worked on including an appropriate colour palette and friendly looking characters so children can enjoy viewing, whilst it hopefully encouraged them to understand that sometimes fears are just things we don’t understand and it’s all about perspective.
