About

My name is Georgia Parker and I am a final-year student at University of Central

Lancashire studying BA (Hons) Fashion Design. My work is driven by creativity,

innovation, and the experiences that shape my perspective. I draw constant inspiration

from my surroundings and personal vision. Throughout my four years of study, I have

developed both my knowledge and technical skills, building on my illustration work by

hand and through CAD, while strengthening my pattern cutting and understanding of

industrial processes. This development has encouraged me to continually push creative

boundaries through material choices and experimental techniques. Exploring the balance

between form and function has allowed me to further understand silhouette, structure,

and surface development within my work. Sustainability remains central to my design

practice, and I strive to carry this ethos throughout my future career. Quality

manufacturing and continuous sampling gives me the opportunity to explore and evolve

my ideas, which excites me about where my future within fashion may lead. To me,

fashion has always been and always will be a continual journey to create, capture and

 explore.

Project overview

Metropolis Morphosis

Metropolis Morphosis is a womenswear collection inspired by the urban expansion of modern architecture and the kinetic connection between movement and the female silhouette. The collection explores how garments can morph with metropolitan life, adapting between motion and stillness, day and night, work and play, reflecting the city’s ever-evolving layers. Drawing inspiration from London, the designs translate the rhythm of the urban environment through innovative processes and experimentation. Techniques such as laser cutting, manipulation and structural construction push the boundaries of material capabilities. Architectural facades and urban infrastructures inform the detailing and pattern, inspiring garments that conceal movement. Each piece kinetically responds to its surroundings, mirroring the constant architectural flow of the cityscape. The collection fuses the raw edge of London streetwear with avante-garde sculptural design, creating bold, modern silhouettes that combine utility and elegance, embodying the confidence and adaptability of the contemporary urban woman. The colour palette reflects London’s metropolitan mood, capturing neutral tones, monochromatic contrasts and metallic highlights reminiscent of stell, glass and concrete. Photography of the city has been a key research tool, translating visual rhythm into form and fabric.
