About
Hi! I’m Hannah, an illustrator originally from North Wales. Over the last two years I’ve been developing various children’s book ideas as part of my masters, focusing on one specific book, ‘When Pigs Fly’, to complete as my final project. I usually work digitally but aim to give my work texture and a more traditional feel, and I love using lots of bright colours! I find a lot of inspiration in vintage children’s books, 2d and stop motion animation, and theatre. During my time on the undergraduate illustration course at UCLan, I discovered that I really enjoy writing and illustrating children’s books, so it has been great to be able to dedicate more time to it whilst completing the masters.

When Pigs Fly
A 32 page children’s book about pigs on an airplane! The illustrations were completed digitally, and the story was also written by me. This project was an attempt to add more variety to my portfolio, which has previously included more graphic novel work, usually with more serious themes and morals. So I wanted to make something a little sillier! I really enjoyed working on this book and hope to continue developing similar picture books in the future.
