About
As a young artist I have been in education my whole life that revolves around art whilst also creating in my spare time. In recent years I have had my work appear in a number of exhibitions, including at the Harris Museum, and also had the experience of curating group and individual exhibitions, some including my own work. My time studying Fine Art in university has given me the freedom to explore projects I wouldn’t have been able to do at home as well as experimenting with a range of new materials and practices. With my own studio space I have had the chance to work work at a larger scale that I have never worked at before which has challenged me in many ways and overall reshaped my way of working as an artist. Art has always been a hobby of mine and I hope to ultimately turn it into a career.
Project overview
Paper, Reworked
My project is an entirely process based practice that explores the process of reforming recycled, scrap paper into large scale 2D paper sculptures. The process includes shredding, blending, and using a hand made mould whist I am intentionally selective of the colour, texture, size and composition of each piece. My work is inspired and can be defined within multiple artistic practices such as textiles, painting and sculpture as I stretch the limits of an everyday, basic material that is paper.
