About
My work revolves around creating aesthetic colour palettes. I love working with traditional mediums, especially oil paint, gouache and watercolour, showing visible brushwork. My favourite subject matter to paint is portraits and I particularly enjoy painting celebrities and pop culture icons. My goal is to work in fields such as film promotion, publishing, editorial and advertising as I’d love to have my work displayed at large formats as well as something more tangible like a book cover. I am also interested in mural work and set design, as I enjoy creating my work on a bigger scale to allow viewers to be more immersed in my artwork.
Project overview
Throne of Glass.
For this project I created an immersive world for the fantasy book series 'Throne of Glass' by Sarah J Maas. I designed a woodland backdrop which hosted two life-size paintings of the main characters of the series, as well as a redesign of the first book's cover. Additionally I painted three iconography inspired portraits of other main characters in the series. My goal for this project was to bring the world to life for fans of the book who may not have seen the characters on this scale before. Some fans of these books hold fantasy balls where they dress up as the characters and have themed music and food. My backdrop and stands could be used as photo opportunities at these events and the book cover redesign could be sold as a limited edition.
