Hi, I'm Jasmine! I am a textile design student who specialises in creating unique mixed media outcomes combining illustration and layering techniques. I take my inspiration from my own experiences and passions, from exploring the world and road tripping in the Alps, to my love for sports and mountain biking. I love designing in a way that allow me to play and experiment exploring textures and colours to create outcomes that are as unique as I am!
Project overview
Eddys Trails
This project aims to explore the social side of outdoor sports and how in this modern age where the default for socialising is through a screen, getting outside and being with other people can have a great positive impact. My initial inspiration for this project was fuelled by my love for the outdoors and my newfound hobby of mountain biking, which has brought me into a whole new community of people. This community has had a great impact on my health not only physically but also mentally and with this project I want to share an insight into that community with others, designing my own biking event to bring people together.
In this project I aim to push my skills into a whole new area exploring illustration, developing my own personal handwriting and creating an event that has a cohesive collection including promotional material and mechanise. Throughout this project I explored the visual design of outdoor sports events focusing on how the visual designs can create a strong event identity. I considered the positive community impact that my event could have on young people, creating a cohesive event design collection.
Throughout this project I explored finding and refining a personal illustrative style, exploring techniques such as drawing, printing, and collage to push myself to a higher level. Each illustration reflects the Eddys Trails location using key icons and motifs to represent the unique identity of the event, carrying across the whole collection creating a cohesive and strong design message.
