About
I am currently in my third year studying Interior Design, where I’ve developed a strong interest in creating zen-inspired interiors and exploring the influence of nature in design. My passion for design stems from a desire to shape spaces that evoke a sense of calm, inspire creativity, and have a positive emotional impact on those who experience them. Nature has always played a vital role in my creative process. From the textures of organic materials to the shifting quality of natural light, I draw constant inspiration from the world around me. I believe that good design should not only serve its users but also respect and reflect the environment. This belief drives me to seek out sustainable, thoughtful solutions that minimize environmental impact while enhancing wellbeing. Ultimately, I aim to design interiors that are both aesthetically harmonious and environmentally conscious spaces where people feel connected, centred, and uplifted. As I continue to grow as a designer, I remain committed to finding ways to align creativity with sustainability, and to design with both people and the planet in mind.

The Wharf
Gather, Connect, Breathe... A Place to Belong: Using Design to Reconnect. In a world that moves quickly, social isolation is more common than ever. Many people can feel isolated for different reasons like the rise of technology, urbanization and the disappearance of shared community places. Here I have looked to convert an old canal-side warehouse into a haven of peace and connection, I aim to help to close that divide, helping to bring more people together. I have taken inspiration from Japanese, Zen and biophilic gardens and interiors, designed to promote both conversation and reflection. The café section offers a cozy, welcoming haven for informal catch ups or peaceful contemplation, while the event area functions as a vibrant centre for classes, workshops, get togethers and cultural events. Every guest is made to feel present, welcome and at ease by the calming ambiance created by using natural materials, gentle lighting as well as fluid spatial transitions. With the addition of the Plexiglass canopy, creating a calming and immersive walk through/seating area inspired by the movement of water. This space is flexible whether someone comes in for a community class, a mindful coffee break, or simply to find a moment of peace by the canal, this space offers more than functionality, it offers a sense of belonging.
