About
I am a queer Northern-based character artist with a specialism in horror and cartoons. I’m greatly inspired by the works of Jhonen Vasquez, Robert Valley, Nicholas Kole, and my long-lasting obsession with the Crash Bandicoot series. I love the weird and freakish, vile villains, the edge and grunge of the early 2000s culture and cartoons, all of which act as my muse for my artistic vision.
Project overview
Misfitz
Misfitz is a character driven rhythm game celebrating a band of chaotic outcasts determined to make their individuality the centre of everyone’s world. Blending genres from smooth jazz to aggressive metal, the band’s music shifts as wildly as the personalities behind it.
Leading the group is Skully-B, an expressive skeleton vocalist whose range stretches from ear-splitting screams to gentle crooning. Behind the keys is Knoxx, a quiet multi-instrumentalist whose absent-minded nature hides a restless, eccentric mind. Holding down the rhythm section is Donnie; a foul-mouthed mutant drummer whose tough exterior conceals a surprisingly soft heart. Completing the lineup is B.B., a demon-possessed boombox bassist whose oversized ego and appetite for fame constantly land the band in trouble.
Inspired by the stylized character work of Jhonen Vasquez and the visual identity of Gorillaz, Misfitz draws heavily from the punk, alternative, and underground music culture of the early 2000s.
