About

Through my art, I delve into the intricate tapestry of human experience in our modern world. Drawing from my background as a psychotherapist and my lifelong deep study of people and myself, I seek to recreate the essence of what it means to be human today. My work is a reflection of the complexities, struggles, and triumphs that define our existence in a rapidly evolving society. Using the medium of clay, I aim to capture the raw emotions, vulnerabilities, and strengths that shape our identities and relationships. Working on both the inner and external world, I want my work to show that despite what may be seen on the outside, internally we are all the same, feeling the same range of emotions however or wherever we experience this world. Each piece is a visual narrative, inviting viewers to explore their own inner worlds and connect with the shared experiences that bind us together. My art serves as a mirror, inviting contemplation and sparking conversations about the human condition in all its shades of light and dark. Working on both the inner and external world, I want my work to show that despite what may be seen on the outside, internally we are all the same, feeling the same range of emotions as we experience our world.

Project overview

Welcomed, witnessed and loved

The aim of my project is to use my lived experience to find a way to capture human essence in sculptural form. I have been forever curious about how our universal search for connection and belonging is seemingly much easier for some than others. Some, however, appear to lock away their vulnerabilities in the deepest darkest corners of their psyche, pretending that everything is ‘just fine’. (Fig.3) My work is in response to the environment, whether that be my own lived experience or my comments on things that are happening in the wider world.
