About
I am an abstract textile artist. Previously I presented my work at the 2023 Graduate Fashion week, a crochet jacket illustrating overheard conversations in public. A jacket was then commissioned to be worn by the lead singer of a band, for their international tour. During my MA I wanted to push myself as an artist by using a new medium and technique to explore my interests. Which included developing my dyeing, sewing, and quilting skills. My work focuses on studying repulsive surfaces, that reflect and make appealing sculptural textiles that invite touch and consideration. This metamorphosis impacts my own experience of living with OCD and invites the viewer to consider their own tactile inner world.

The Undesirable to the Desirable
This project started by inviting the viewer into the intrusive thoughts of the artist living with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This work examined the images of mould by creating artwork from photographic studies. The experience of making this artwork softened the undesirable effects and revulsion, which transformed the interaction with the surface texture. Despite the repulsiveness of the mould the sculptural textile surface invites touch.
