About
I am a surface pattern designer who enjoys making bold, unique, and playful patterns. I always aim for my prints to be vivid, creating an atmosphere filled with silliness and laughter. I like to design quirky characters, enabling my prints to tell a story. Creating surface patterns filled with detail, bright colours and storytelling lets people’s imagination run wild. Furthermore, I enjoy working with traditional print techniques such as screen print and lino print. In the print room I can be expressive and create textural abstract outcomes which I later develop into digital patterns. Overall, my innovative ideas and creativity allows me to experiment, be adaptable and design ideas for any type of customer that it’s intended for.
Project overview
Guilty Pleasures
In our world we are surrounded by a various number of temptations. These temptations release feelings of guilt and pleasure that can lead to embarrassment. Guilty pleasures have a taboo nature that we hide from each other, when it should be shared. Sharing each other’s interests, activities and habits would demolish any feelings of guilt and open a new mindset. Therefore, my project normalises people's guilty pleasures and opens an opposite viewpoint, positive and exciting. By exploring a range of funky, psychedelic motifs and patterns filled with bold colours I have produced a playful collection filled with acceptance. My work embodies the true feelings behind guilty pleasures and allows people to feel comforted and joyful when observing my collection.
