About
As an aspiring architect, I have just completed my foundation year—which will act as the foundation layer to the skills I develop. Through the course of this year, I was introduced to architectural design principles, spatial awareness, sustainability, and a range of other skills. The skills enabled me to have a great influence on the way I approach the built environment. My work reflects a curiosity for how architecture interacts with people, culture, and context. Through a series of conceptual projects, I’ve experimented with form, light, and material, while beginning to develop my personal preference towards design. Each project in this showcase is a milestone in that process—representing not just outcomes, but explorations and discoveries. This is not only a demonstration, but it's also a demonstration of personal growth and a preview of things to come as I progress in the next step of studying architecture. I'm excited to learn more, to challenge, and to design spaces that are meaningful, diverse, and impactful.
Project overview
Mohammed Abdullah's architecture portfolio and exhibition
This model represents a conceptual stilt house designed to accommodate modern living while responding to elevated terrain or flood-prone environments.it features 2 bedrooms (both equipped with an en-suite), a kitchen, a guest bathroom and a living area. There is also a lower area which could act as a multipurpose floor, catered to the clients' preference. My client was an engineer, so the lower space was made towards making a workshop area. Human-scale figures provide a sense of proportion and occupancy, enhancing the narrative of everyday use within the elevated dwelling.
