Project overview
Nostalgia: The Reflections of Delhi
This project is designed to address social awareness about mental health and wellbeing. It features the concept of nostalgia and how nostalgia helps in seeking comfort."Reflections of Delhi" is a nostalgic interpretation of the city, capturing its rich history and culture through design. I aim to explore bold, oversized shapes inspired by the iconic dome of Jama Masjid, creating a silhouette that echoes the grandeur of this architectural marvel. The hand-painted prints draw inspiration from the old walls in the streets of Yamuna Ghat, reflecting the city's artistic spirit. Additionally, the laser-cut elements are influenced by the intricate jaal windows of Jama Masjid, bringing a touch of traditional craftsmanship into a modern context.
The concept is seeking comfort with the help of nostalgic cultural heritage.
The mood is nostalgic and the colour palette is calming pastels.
The prints are hand-painted on the screen printing plate and then transferred on to the fabric via digital printing.
Dome shaped structured silhouettes are inspired from cultural heritage.
