About
Hi, I’m Olivia. The past few years at university have been unforgettable. I have learned so much about design, craft and also about myself. During this time, I discovered a passion for experimenting across different areas of design, particularly packaging and illustration. One aspect I have enjoyed throughout every project is the research and development process. The opportunity to learn and experience new things, explore different ideas, and discover the unique solution to the brief. This course has helped me grow, adapt, overcome challenges, and become more confident in both myself and my work. I am excited to share what I’ve created at Preston. But, most of all, I look forward to beginning my journey within the creative industry and finding a placement or graduate role after university.
Project overview
Still Worth It
In 1971, the world witnessed two radical, era-defining moments for women. The launch of L’Oréal’s iconic “I’m Worth It” campaign, the first ever beauty advertisement written and spoken by a woman. As well as the first major Women’s Liberation March, which protested inequalities that women are unfortunately still facing today. Fifty-five years later, L’Oréal returned to its own radical roots with a campaign confronting these longstanding issues and reminding women everywhere that they are… All Still Worth It. On International Women’s Day, L’Oréal staged a surprise catwalk intervention during Paris Fashion Week, where supermodels from the past six decades carried placards written in L’Oréal red lipstick highlighting these issues. Through taking inspiration from the pioneering women of 1971, the campaign transformed makeup into a tool for protest and solidarity, encouraging women everywhere to share their own messages of strength, struggle, and support… because we’re all still worth it.
